माइक्रोसॉफ्ट नामक कम्पनी के सह संस्थापक तथा अध्यक्ष बिल गेट्स के बारें में तो आप सब जानते ही होंगे। उम्र के 32 साल पूरे होने के पहले ही 1987 में उनका नाम अरबपतियों की फ़ोर्ब्स की सूची में आ गया और कई साल तक वो इस सूची में पहले स्थान पर बने रहे। ब्रिज, टेनिस और गोल्फ के खिलाडी बिल गेट्स अपने तीन बच्चों के लिए अपनी पूरी जायदाद छोड़कर नहीं जाना चाहते, क्योकि उनका मानना है कि अगर मैं अपनी संपत्ति का एक प्रतिशत भी उनके लिए छोड़ दूँ तो वह काफी होगा। वे 16 साल तक अरबपतियों की सूची में नंबर वन रह चुके हैं।

एक स्कूल में बिल गेट्स ने स्पीच में बच्चो को ग्यारह रूल्स दिए, जिनके बारें में उन्होंने न तो सीखा होगा, न ही कभी सीखेगे और न ही कोई इन रूल्स के बारें में कोई बताएगा।

दोस्तों मुझे यह Post काफी पसंद आई और मुझे ये लगा कि ये मेरे छोटे दोस्तों school और college going students के लिए काफी अच्छी साबित होंगीं।

Rule 1: जीवन अनुकूल नहीं हैं – बेहतर होगा इसी की आदत डाल लें।

Rule 1: Life is not fair. Get used to it. The average teen-ager uses the phrase “It’s not fair” 8.6 times a day. You got it from your parents, who said it so often you decided they must be the most idealistic generation ever. When they started hearing it from their kids, they realized Rule No. 1.

Rule 2: The real world won’t care as much about your self-esteem as your school does. It’ll expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: Sorry, you won’t make $70,000 a year right out of high school and you won’t be a vice president or have a car phone either. You may even have to wear a uniform that doesn’t have a Gap label.

Rule 4: आपको लगता हैं कि आपका टीचर सख्त हैं तो अपने Boss का इंतजार करें।

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait ’til you get a boss. He doesn’t have tenure, so he tends to be a bit edgier. When you screw up, he’s not going to ask you how you feel about it.

Rule 5: अगर आप से कोई गलती हो गई हैं तो यह आपको parents की गलती नहीं हैं। अपनी गलतियों पर रोने के बजाय उनसे सीखे।

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not below your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: They called it opportunity.

Rule 6: आपके अस्तित्व में आने से पहले आपके माता-पिता इतने उबाऊ नहीं थे। वे आपके बिल भर-भर कर, आपके कपडे धो-धो कर और आपकी बातें सुन कर ऐसे हो चुके हैं। इसलिए बेहतर हैं कि अपने आपको ठीक करें।

Rule 6: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way by paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your room.

Rule 7: भले ही schools में हार-जीत होती हो, लेकिन जीवन में ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं होता हैं। कुछ school में fail होने वाली grade ख़त्म हो चुकी हैं, इस लिहाज से भी इसका real-life से कोई तालमेल नहीं हैं।

Rule 7: Your school may have done away with winners and losers. Life hasn’t. In some schools, they’ll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. Failing grades have been abolished and class valedictorians scrapped, lest anyone’s feelings are hurt. The effort is as important as results. This, of course, bears not the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

Rule 8: जीवन semester में नहीं बंटा हुआ हैं इसमें अवकाश नहीं होते। बेहद कम नियोक्ता आपको अपनी पहचान बनाने का मौका देते हैं। बेहतर हैं काम समय पर करें।

Rule 8: Life is not divided into semesters, and you don’t get summers off. Not even Easter break. They expect you to show up every day. For eight hours. And you don’t get a new life every 10 weeks. It just goes on and on. While we’re at it, very few jobs are interested in fostering your self-expression or helping you find yourself. Fewer still leads to self-realization.

Rule 9: TV, कोई वास्तविक जीवन नहीं हैं। असली जीवन में लोगो को coffee shop का खुशनुमा माहौल छोड़ कर नौकरी पर जाना ही पड़ता हैं।

Rule 9: Television is not real life. Your life is not a sitcom. Your problems will not all be solved in 30 minutes, minus time for commercials. In real life, people have to leave the coffee shop to go to jobs. Your friends will not be as perky or pliable as Jennifer Aniston.

Rule 10: बेवकूफ लोगो के साथ भी अच्छा बर्ताव करें, हो सकता हैं उनके साथ काम करना पड़ जाएँ।

Rule 10: Be nice to nerds. You may end up working for them. We all could.

Rule 11: Smoking करने से पहले आप cool नज़र नहीं आएंगे। वरन इससे आप उलटे कमज़ोर बुद्धि के लगेंगे। अगली बार जब आप बाहर जाएँ तो हो सकता हैं कि 11 साल का बच्चा भी मुहं में कोई खिलौना लिए दिखे। आप भी ऐसे ही दिखेंगे, बस उम्र 20 की होगी, उस बच्चे को देख कर जो विचार आपने मन में आएंगे, वही दूसरों के मन में आपको smoking करते देखकर आ सकते हैं।

Rule 11: Smoking does not make you look cool. It makes you look moronic. Next time you’re out cruising, watch an 11 yr old with a butt in his mouth. That’s what you look like to anyone over 20. Ditto for “expressing yourself” with purple hair and/or pierced body parts.
